Most silk and linen fabrics do not hold the dye like most man made fabrics. For example a Taiwon silk is better than Indian or Hong Kong silk.

Due to the colour fastness and delicacy of the fabric you are limited to what chemicals you can use, spotting stains can be extremely time consuming to prevent colour loss or possible damage.

These types of garments have to be cleaned using a more delicate cycle.
